Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 6, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used by RunPPC across two distinct surfaces: (1) our marketing site and app, and (2) the RunPPC snippet that our customers install on their own landing pages.
1. Our marketing site (runppc.com)
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-WBRFZHCDS5) to
understand which pages help visitors and which do not. No analytics is loaded until you
consent. Until you accept, no Google Analytics script is requested, no measurement data
is sent to Google, and no analytics or advertising cookie is set. If you refuse, that stays true;
if you accept and later withdraw, the cookies below are deleted.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years | Audience measurement (consent required) |
_ga_WBRFZHCDS5 | Google Analytics | Keeps session state for the GA4 property | 2 years | Audience measurement (consent required) |
rp_consent | RunPPC | Records the cookie choice you make in the banner | 6 months | Strictly necessary |
mf_ref | RunPPC | Records a referral code when you arrive on a ?ref= link | 60 days | Strictly necessary |
The lifetimes above are maximums, not guarantees: Google Analytics refreshes its cookies on each visit, and browsers cap first-party cookies independently (about 400 days in Chrome, 7 days in Safari without a return visit).
Who receives the data. If you consent to audience measurement, your browser loads a script from googletagmanager.com and sends measurement data to Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, which act as our processors for that measurement. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site today. The advertising category exists in the banner so that we do not have to re-ask everyone on the day we start measuring our own Google Ads.
Google Fonts, separately from your cookie choice. Our pages load two typefaces (Onest and Geist) from Google's font servers, fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. That request sets no cookie and carries no measurement, but it does disclose your IP address, your browser user agent and the page you are viewing to Google LLC. It happens on every page load, including this one, and it is not covered by the banner. We are working on serving these fonts from our own domain, which will remove that transfer entirely.
2. Our app (app.runppc.com)
The app uses strictly necessary cookies required to run the product:
- Authentication / session cookies set by our auth provider Clerk to keep you signed in and secure your session.
- Preference cookies (e.g. interface language EN/FR).
These are essential for the Service to function and are not used for advertising.
3. The RunPPC snippet (on our customers' landing pages)
When a customer installs the snippet, it may set a first-party cookie on their domain. Its sole purpose is conversion attribution: it stores the ad-click parameters on arrival so that a conversion can be attributed when the visitor reaches the customer's confirmation/thank-you page (the confirmation-page fallback). It is:
- first-party to the customer's site (not a cross-site tracker),
- functional/measurement only,
- governed by the customer's own privacy and cookie disclosures, for which the customer is the controller (RunPPC acts as processor; see the DPA).
The snippet does not read the content of third-party form iframes and does not set advertising cookies.
4. Managing cookies
On your first visit to runppc.com a banner asks for your choice, with Reject all and Accept all side by side: refusing costs exactly one click, the same as accepting. Customize opens the same choice split by purpose. Optional categories start switched off, and doing nothing leaves them off.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the Cookie preferences button in the footer of every page. Withdrawing does more than flip a setting: it stops the Google script loading and deletes the Google cookies already set in your browser. Your choice is remembered for 6 months, and a refusal is remembered exactly as long as a consent, so you are not asked again on every visit.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break sign-in.
